Web Site Design and Hosting

A site on the World Wide Web has two components.  The actual web pages and the computer (or server) which makes those pages visible on the Internet.   LRZone will provide a free consultation to discuss the type of site you need.   We will create your pages, add programming code where required, load your site on a server and make sure all of your links are working properly.  Maintenance involves keeping your pages up to date and making changes when necessary.  Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may allocate free space on their server for you to use with your dial-up Internet access account, however they may not offer all the necessary features.   If you wish to use that space, we can upload your pages for you or help you upload them yourself.  If you need more space, LRZone does offer packages for web hosting.

Internet Service Provider (ISP)

As we've stated above, your web site will be made available by a server.  However, you must have internet access to view them.  It is not required to have internet access, or even a computer, to have a web site.   Internet access is only necessary if YOU need to use the web.  I recently had the opportunity to speak with a misinformed business owner.  He stated "we have a web site, but we don't use it."  He missed the point--the web site is there for you to bring in more customers, get more orders, or provide your clients with more information.

Domain Names

A domain name is a name you choose to distinguish your site on the Internet. You must apply to InterNIC, the agency that issues domain names, in order to register your choice.  We suggest you choose a domain name that is identical or similar to your business name followed by .com.  Then, customers familiar with your business name can quickly find you on the Web. LRZone does not charge to check the availability of your name and process the application for you as part of your Web site design package. After we place your application, InterNIC will send you a bill of $70.  Their fee covers domain name registration for two years.  Thereafter you will pay $35 per year.   The domain name is not yours until you pay the fee.  It will be suspended and canceled by InterNIC for non-payment after 60 days.  You can register directly with InterNIC yourself.  However, you must have an active account on a host/server in order to do so.  If you choose not to register a domain name, we can host your site as a canonical domain (domain.lrzone.com) with no InterNIC fee.   Use the InterNIC Whois Interface to check availability.
